South Street Diner on Kneeland Street in Boston will host its annual Customer Appreciation Day this Sunday. The day will feature free pony rides up and down South Street between Beach and Kneeland Street, as well as with cartoonists, face painters, ice cream truck and a live DJ spinning family-friendly hits all afternoon. South Street Diner Owner Sol Sidell will be on hand to meet and greet his loyal customer base and serve up hamburgers, hotdogs and refreshments inside his establishment that will be free for all ages in addition to all of the day’s free activities. South Street Diner, formerly the Blue Diner, was built in 1947 and has been a mainstay on the list of Boston's must-see attractions ever since. Sun., Sept. 22, 2-6 p.m. All ages. Free.
