I'll have to agree with mpg54 on this one. The size/speed component is what makes Browner valuable here. No knock on Dennard though, he's no slouch. It's a solid bunch all around.

Let's see now... Browner, Revis, Dennard, Ryan, Arrington with McCourty and Harmon taking safety. Not bad at all. Now, about that D-line....

Pats could probably get Woodyard at a cap friendly rate. A pass covering LB is something the Pats could sorely use.

The last time these Patriots won less than 10 games was in 2002! Year after year this teams wins with seemingly countless new players and one constant--Brady. This year is shaping up to be one of BB more »

Hightower has been disappointing. I don't think Spikes will play in NE next year either. Maybe, as you wrote, putting Hightower at MLB might be a better role for him. Fletcher and Collins aren't do more »

There's enough worry to go around for both units. Defense loosing it's best players in all three tiers (DL, LB, DB) would diminish any team. Hoping Collins and/or Fletcher emerge to fill void left more »

Agreed with the premise. As you pointed out, at least the kids are getting open. It needs to come together soon though. We're playing some very good offenses soon and Brady is going to need that ch more »

I don't care if Amendola is hurt now. Nobody is going to feel sorry for you. Second guessing isn't bringing anyone back. You play with what you have. Let's find out now if these kids can do it. more »

It's been a while but it's time for the defense to step it up. All these years building that defense needs to start paying off. Last week was a hopeful start to that.

Hmmmm. That leaves 3 TE's left count Gronk. Took a long time to finally determine that Ballard wasn't their guy.

I'm gonna wait and see after about 2 or 3 games. I've been a bit dissappointed with Dobson, but some of his shortcomings have been from poor QB passes his way from Mallet and Tebow. Still, he seems more »

My take away. No injuries! My one downer from preseason - no Armstead. Is this guy even gonna make the team?
Posted 08/07/2013 09:45:53 EDT
Not buying the Armstead cut either. I'd like to see him play before the end of preseason though.

Solder has emerged as a very solid Patriot OT. Win for BB in drafting another stud OL.
Posted 05/04/2013 11:36:34 EDT
Hmmm. An all-Rutgers backfield. Possible? There will definitely be representation in the roster.

The Rodgers pick is really the only one I cared about. I liked the pick. Finally, a plus size receiver with good hands. As for Collins, great physical specimen who may just need the motivation to b more »

No, no, no, no. The Patriots will NOT draft a safety in the first round. Say it, believe it, know it. With only five picks, BB's either gonna draft a DT/DE (Bill has better luck getting it right more »

Very interesting assessment. If there's wiggle room in this draft between WR and CB, I'd say the Pats have more room to pick further down at WR. I wouldn't mind seeing them pick a pass rush DE or b more »

I'm with you on the defense building. They got some young blood but now they have to settle that backfield with some good talent.
Posted 03/14/2013 07:36:00 EDT
That young defense will be a year wiser and better with the opportunity to solidify it with some key FA signings and draft picks. Let's hope they can keep Talib. McCourty needs to stay at FS.

What interests me is what will the Patriots do going forward. Do they now address the defensive backfield with Aqib Talib and others? With Dennard possibly facing jail time, the Pats actually need t more »

This one didn't sting nearly as much. I had a sense that the Patriots played hard and that it would come down to who made more plays. Fans from 30 teams did not get the priviledge of knowing what it's more »

Agree wholeheartedly on point 11. Solder has quickly learned his assignments and will be better than Vollmer; the success at center replacements has saved this O-line from disaster. As for point 12, t more »

Ugly win. Patchwork defense keeps KC off balance. Arrington is making the most of his opportunities. Edelman keeps finding ways to keep himself on the roster--he needed that punt return. Nice to Canno more »
