Posted 12/06/2013 02:49:32 EST
j-m-, It's how the network mixes the audio for the NFL telecast. My guess is that they want you to feel like you're there. The crowd is loud at the stadium, the networks want you to feel the excitemen more »

NBC dropped the ball, simply by not mikeing the actors correctly. They were performing on vast soundstages, and the mikes picked up every inch of the atmosphere. If the producers had miked the actors more »
Comment on: Red Sox interested in Carlos Beltran - Red Sox - Boston.com
Posted 11/08/2013 05:23:26 EST
He's a great player, sure, but Beltran should forever be remembered for taking a called third strike with two outs in the bottom of the ninth (with the bases loaded!), costing the Mets a trip to the 2 more »

Comment on: Danny Ainge says Clippers-Celtics deal is 'dead', the team wants Doc Rivers back as head coach -Celtics blog - Boston Globe basketball news
Posted 06/18/2013 12:55:54 EDT
How about Doc, KG, and Lee for Jordan, Billups, and a pick? That way Ainge can lure Billups into coaching after he retires in a year or two.
Comment on: Boston Phoenix to close - Boston.com
Posted 03/14/2013 03:33:49 EDT
This sad news isn't surprising, just based on the format change six months ago. Why didn't the Phoenix move to a glossy, weekly news magazine? Instead it became a clone of Improper Bostonian. They gam more »
Comment on: Downtown Crossing pushcarts to leave soon - Boston.com
Posted 03/09/2013 11:23:25 EST
The only reason I can think of is the storefronts and department stores want the carts gone. Don't they know that hippos need birds to stay healthy?
Comment on: Kevin Garnett says this All-Star appearance will 'definitely' be his last -Celtics blog - Boston Globe basketball news
Posted 02/14/2013 12:36:49 EST
If he does retire, I hope Doc and Danny try to get KG to consider being a big-man coach like Clifford Ray. Helping Fab Melo and other young guys become dominant NBA players could be motivation for som more »
Comment on: 'Loss of weekend E train service worries riders'
Posted 06/30/2012 08:34:31 EDT
It's sad to see the E terminate at Brigham Circle on weekends, and it seems like if/when the MBTA has another budget gap next year/whenever, weekday service will be cut, too. more »
Comment on: MGM Resorts promises 3,000 jobs at proposed âworld-class resortâ in Brimfield - Metro Desk - Local news updates from The Boston Globe
Posted 01/12/2012 01:01:25 EST
Brimfield isn't that much of a weird choice as you'd think. The town's on the Connecticut border, so there will be HUGE anti-casino sentiment from interests backed by Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. It rais more »

Comment on: 'Players reject NBA's offer, threatening season'
Posted 11/14/2011 05:03:11 EST
I'm so disappointed with all this. On the one hand, the players don't know how good they have it right now. On the other, they really shouldn't move off the terms of their last CBA, and decertifying t more »

Comment on: Doc Rivers verbally agrees to 5-year extension -Celtics blog - Boston Globe basketball news
Posted 05/13/2011 02:37:09 EDT
This is a good first step, but a key will be who they can get as assistants. It's almost as important as players in this day and age. Phil Jackson had Jordan, Pippen, Shaq in his prime, and Kobe, yes, more »
Comment on: 'Veteran like Pierce shouldn’
Posted 05/02/2011 08:06:35 EDT
It's fairly obvious to me that the NBA wants to send a message to the Celtics: You're done. The league thinks they have a ratings superstar tandem in Miami, and Stern needs to capitalize. So why would more »

Comment on: 'Celtics close in on Shaq'
Posted 08/04/2010 08:26:03 EDT
