If Napoli's HR was luck, Verlander's whole game was luck too. How inane is that? Good luck is a seeing-eye grounder. Bad luck is hitting a bullet right at an infielder. Skill is being able to pitch more »

Cell phones should be banned. Seriously. The world is a worse place with them. The negatives far outweigh their benefits.
Comment on: Jon Lester for Wil Myers? Why not? - Touching All the Bases - Boston.com
Posted 11/27/2012 02:20:33 EST
No risk, no reward. It seems that throwing money at FA this season will get the Sox precious little. If he rebounds well, what difference does a 'vintage' Lester do for the Sox in 2013? Probably not m more »

Trading is a risk. There's potential downside in a prospect that won't be as good as hoped. But the only positive side of retaining Lester is potentially (2) good years of pitching from (1) starter. W more »

Dice K and ALckey have combined for a 6.66 era this season thus far. Honestly, not much worse is out there, Galaragga included. Look at Colon. All you need is a hefty injection of HGH and you can make more »

I have no glaring disagreements with any of the assessments. I might rank Dice-K as overachieveing, but I had very poor expectations there. Ellsbury I might put at expected, not over-acieveing. I'd li more »

CJ's response was good. He's an opening day starter for a reason. All one can go by until the game begins is historical stats. Lefties have a tough time. I am hoping AGon isn't as affected by Wilson. more »
