How about an early holiday gift for yourself -- or anyone in your life who loves Broadway musicals or Bon Jovi’s David Bryan. The national tour of “Memphis” is at the Citi Performing Arts Center Emerson Colonial Theatre Dec. 11-23. The 2010 “Best Musical” Tony winner also won a Tony for “Best Original Score” penned by Bryan along with Joe DiPietro.

Set in the segregated 50s, it’s the story of a white DJ who wanders into a black nightclub to soak up its rock ‘n roll music. And it all started in Beverly where the show had its premiere at the North Shore Music Theatre in 2003.
