“Profanes et Sacrées: 20th-Century French Chamber Music,” a recording by the Boston Symphony Chamber Players, was nominated Wednesday night for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Chamber Music/ Small Ensemble Performance. (The album includes works by Ravel, Tomasi, Dutilleux, Debussy, and Francaix.)

Also receiving a nomination from Boston’s classical music community was violist Kim Kashkashian, whose “Kurtag & Ligeti: Music for Viola” (ECM New Series) is a contender in the category of Best Classical Instrumental Solo. The 55th annual Grammy Awards will take place on Feb. 10, 2013.
