The Boston Symphony Orchestra announced Monday that due to a back injury, violinist Lisa Batiashvili will not be able to perform Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto as scheduled, in the orchestra’s subscription concert series that begins Thursday. In her place, Julian Rachlin, in his BSO debut, will appear as violin soloist in the work on Jan. 10, 11, 12, and 15. Alan Gilbert will conduct the program, which also includes works by Dutilleux, Stravinsky, and Ravel.
