Boston Children’s Museum is a finalist for the 2013 National Medal for Museum and Library Service
The Boston Children’s Museum opened its doors 100 years ago at Pine Bank in Jamaica Plain, and as if that anniversary isn’t enough to celebrate, the institution is a 2013 National Medal for Museum and Library Service finalist.
The Institute of Museum and Library Services made the announcement on Valentine’s Day, explaining that the National Medal is “the nation’s highest honor conferred on museums and libraries for service to the community and celebrates institutions that make a difference for individuals, families, and communities.”
