Hyannis motorcyclist dies, second man injured in Dennis crash
A 35-year-old Hyannis man died and another man was injured after they lost control of the motorcycles they were riding in Dennis early Sunday morning, according to a Dennis Police Department statement.
The two men were driving east on Route 28 at around 1 a.m. when they struck a utility pole on the south side of Route 28. The bikes flipped onto their sides and sent their riders forward into the street.
Police identified one of the motorcycle operators as Edward Kelley, 43, of Starbuck Lane, Yarmouth Port. Kelley was taken to Barnstable Municipal Airport and medflighted to a Boston hospital. His condition was not immediately available.
The other man, who police are not identifying pending notification of his next of kin, was taken to Cape Cod Hospital where he died.
Police are looking to speak with the operator of a third motorcycle who is believed to have been traveling with the group.
