Two men rescued after beaching fishing boat on Naushon Island
A seagoing drama had a happy ending when two missing men were rescued by the US Coast Guard this afternoon after being reported missing for more than 10 hours.
The two men, whose names are being withheld by authorities, are said to have set out at 4 p.m. Sunday. The Coast Guard received notification of their being missing at 2:30 a.m. today from the boat owner’s girlfriend.
The owner reported to his girlfriend that he and his passenger were “disoriented,” the Coast Guard said in a statement.
The men were found uninjured at 1 p.m. They were awaiting help after beaching their 16-foot fishing boat on Naushon Island, which is off Falmouth.Sarah N. Mattero can be reached at email@example.com.
