T police say fare evader was wanted on four warrants
MBTA Transit Police stopped a man at the Red Line’s Andrew Station for entering through the gates without paying Thursday afternoon and discovered he was wanted on four arrest warrants, transit police said.
Shane Sullivan, 22, of Marshfield initially gave officers a fake name when they approached him for the purposes of issuing a citation at 12:30 p.m., Transit Police said in a statement.
Transit Police investigated further and were able to find out Sullivan’s real name, which revealed warrants from Quincy District Court, Plymouth District Court, and Boston Municipal Court. The warrants were for charges such as larceny, uttering a false check, forgery, and shoplifting.
Officers took Sullivan into custody for the warrants and issued him a citation for the fare evasion, Transit Police said.
