A man who was stabbed Sunday night in Charlestown was believed to have been the victim of a domestic incident, police said today.
Upon arrival, officers found the 24-year-old victim on O’Reilly Way being treated by medical technicians around 9:14 p.m. He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital for his stabbing-related injuries. He is expected to survive, police said.
Police arrested Israel Gerena, 58, of Charlestown for assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon. Both he and the victim were known to one another, police said.
The incident is still under investigation.
