Missing Methuen boy found in Lawrence
Methuen Police on Sunday night located a 12-year-old boy who had been reported missing on Friday after walking away from his foster home on Glen Avenue in Methuen, according to Detective Lieutenant James Jajuga Jr.
Joseph Christopulos III stopped by his friend’s house at 125 Oxford St. in Lawrence on Sunday night, said Jajuga, and his friend’s parent recognized him from a Methuen Police Facebook post about his disappearance. Christopulos was picked up by police at around 9:45 p.m., said Jajuga. He was safe and uninjured.
Jajuga said that police are not sure where Christopulos has been staying. He left his foster home on his bicycle, said Jajuga, and has been staying “at various unknown locations in Lawrence.”
Jajuga said Christopulos said he left because he was “dissatisfied with his living arrangements.”
Christopulos attends school in Lawrence, and has friends there, said Jajuga.Evan Allen can be reached at email@example.com.
