10 hospitalized in Portland, Maine head-on crash
A head-on crash between two sports utility vehicles in Portland, Maine sent 10 people to the hospital Sunday morning, two with critical injuries, according to authorities.
Sebastian Bukuru, 44 of Westbrook, was driving his 2002 Ford Explorer near 132 Marginal Way just after 11 a.m. when he crossed the center line and struck a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee head on, according to Portland police.
There were six people in the Explorer and two are in critical condition at Maine Medical Center. The four people in the Jeep are all in serious condition, according to police.
Nine of the injured were taken to Maine Medical Center, and one was taken to Mercy Hospital, police said.
The Portland Police Department asks that anyone with information about the accident contact the department’s traffic division at 207-874-8532.
