A 33-year-old Dorchester man was allegedly stabbed in the back several times during a fight early this morning at Whiskey’s Smokehouse bar and restaurant in the Back Bay, Boston Police said.

The wounded man told officers that a male suspect had grabbed his chain, which led to the fight that broke out at about 2 a.m. inside the establishment at 885 Boylston St., according to police.

Witnesses told officers that the person who allegedly stabbed the victim left in a green Honda Accord with three male occupants, authorities said.

The suspect was described by witnesses as a black male with dreadlocks and a tattoo on his forearm that said “Washington,” according to police. He was wearing black clothing. Officers said they found a black hat that is believed to belong to the suspect.

The injured man was hospitalized but is expected to recover, officials said.

Police ask that anyone with information call District D-4 detectives at 617-343-5619 or contact authorities anonymously by calling the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1-800-494-TIPS or by texting the word ‘TIP’ to CRIME (27463).
