Man indicted in slaying of Lowell man in Lawrence
A Lawrence man was indicted Wednesday for the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old Lowell man, Essex County prosecutors said.
Ismael Calixto, 18, was charged with the murder of Richard Bonilla. Calixto allegedly shot Bonilla in the head outside a house party in Lawrence on Nov. 4. Bonilla was taken by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital, where he was pronounced dead, prosecutors said.
Calixto was arrested at his home Nov. 5 and has been held without bail, said the office of Essex District Attorney Jonathan W. Blodgett.
