Stoughton boy injured in hit-and-run accident
A 15-year-old boy was struck by a hit-and-run driver while riding his bicycle in Stoughton Saturday evening, the Stoughton Fire Department said.
Police and firefighters responded to a call around 7:45 p.m., Stoughton Fire Lieutenant George O’Neil said. It appeared that the car, which witnesses could not describe in detail, had hit the cyclist from behind near 1256 Park St. and kept going.
A Medflight helicopter was unavailable due to weather, so a fire department ambulance transported the boy to Boston Medical Center. O’Neil said the boy was expected to survive his injuries.
