Taunton police are bringing criminal charges against the driver of the car involved in an early morning crash on Bay Street in Taunton that killed two people and injured four, said Taunton Police Officer Joseph Balmain.
Nicholas Costa, 24, is still recovering from the crash at a hospital but will be charged with two counts of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, operation of a motor vehicle after license suspension, and driving with an open container of alcohol, Balmain said.
More charges could brought against Costa, pending an investigation, he said.
