Woman faces drunken driving charges for allegedly striking two pedestrians in Dorchester
A 24-year-old Dorchester woman is facing drunken driving charges after she allegedly drove her car into two pedestrians on Woodrow Avenue in Dorchester early Saturday, authorities said.
Champree Dinkins is to be arraigned today in Dorchester Municipal Court on charges of operating under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident causing injury, and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to Jake Wark, spokesman for Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office.
Wark said the two victims, a man and a woman, were hospitalized. The woman’s injuries are serious and the man’s injuries are life-threatening, he said.
More details are expected to be released at Dinkins’s arraignment later today.
