Police probe 2 apparent BB gun shootings in Roslindale
Authorities in Boston said they are investigating two apparent BB gun shootings that shattered windows on an MBTA bus on last night and hit a female victim in the face this afternoon.
Both incidents happened in the same area of Roslindale, but police said in a statement that they have not determined whether the reported shootings are related.
On Saturday at about 9:35 p.m., two front passenger windows on a T bus were shattered after being shot by what Transit Police said they believe was an air-powered BB gun.
No injuries were reported, the statement said.
The driver of the Route 35 bus told officers the windows shattered as the bus traveled inbound on Washington Street near the road’s intersection with Archdale Road, according to the statement. The driver said he had seen two people standing in a driveway holding what looked like a gun.
Today, at about 1:45 p.m., a female victim in that same area told Transit Police she was struck in the face by a projectile, possibly a BB pellet.
Boston Police are also investigating that incident, the statement said.
A spokesman for the T declined to comment further. Boston Police did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Transit Police detectives at 617-222-1212 or via the MBTA “SeeSay” mobile phone application. Tips can also be provided anonymously by sending a text to 873873.
