Brookline police arrest 29-year-old Quincy man for allegedly robbing BU students at gunpoint
Brookline police today said they are charging a 29-year-old Quincy man in connection with the armed robbery on Saturday of three Boston University students.
Police said Evan Holmes is to be arraigned today in Brookline District Court. A second suspect, identified as Tyler James Mauritson, 27, also of Quincy, is still at large, police said.
The three students told police they were walking near the intersection of Freeman and St. Paul streets around 12:11 a.m. when they were approached from behind by two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm.
The women were robbed of their purses and iPhones, Brookline police said.
The suspects ran onto Commonwealth Avenue and escaped.
The St. Paul Street robbery was among a string of assaults on BU students in Brookline and Boston that remain under investigation by multiple police agencies.
