A car exploded at the parking lot of BJ’s Wholesale Club in Stoneham this afternoon, according to Massachusetts State Police.
State Police Lieutenant Daniel Richard said the explosion occurred at about 3:40 p.m. at the parking lot of the store, which is located on Cedar Street. No one was injured.
State troopers from the Medford barracks responded, well as the State Police Bomb Squad, and Stoneham fire and police.
State Fire Marshall’s office is conducting the investigation but did not immediately return calls for comment. A manager at the store refused to comment. No further information was immediately available.
