New Hampshire man charged with drunk driving after crashing near tollbooths on turnpike
A New Hampshire man was arrested on drunken driving charges early Saturday morning, after he crashed his car on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Merrimack, N.H., according to a statement from the New Hampshire State Police.
When State Police arrived at the crash at about 3:05 a.m., they found an unoccupied 2005 Nissan Altima resting on top of the concrete barriers protecting the toll booths near the Exit 10 off-ramp, according to the statement. The car had heavy front end damage from striking the barriers.
After searching the area, troopers found the driver of the car, 24-year-old Ryan Demers of Merrimack, and arrested him and charged him with driving while intoxicated, according to the statement.
Demers is scheduled to be arraigned in Merrimac District Court on February 13.
