Teenager hit by car during rainstorm in Barnstable

A teenager crossing the street was seriously injured after being hit by a car in a weather-related crash on Cape Cod this morning, Barnstable police said.
The girl was crossing the street at about 7 a.m. to get to the school bus when she was hit by a car driven by an elderly man at the intersection of Old Stage Road and Patriot Way in Barnstable, police said.
Conditions in Barnstable were dark, wet, and windy at that time, a police dispatcher said.
She was transported to Cape Cod Hospital, where her condition was not immediately available. No further information was available.
