The city of Boston is putting some of its ancient and more recent history on display for the first time at the Archaeology Laboratory on Rivermoor Street in West Roxbury, Mayor Thomas M. Menino’s office said Sunday. The Brook Farm exhibit will feature more than 100 artifacts, including a 5,000-year-old Native American spear point, recovered from the historic site in West Roxbury, the statement said. Brook Farm was home to an experimental utopian community between 1841 and 1847. The location was also notable for containing artifacts from colonists, Native Americans, and the Civil War era. Designed by Boston University graduate student Sarah Keklak, the Brook Farm exhibit will be free and open to the public by appointment Tuesdays through Fridays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m through June 15. To schedule an appointment, contact city archaeologist Joe Bagley at 617-635-3850 or at joseph.bagley@cityofboston.gov
