A Mashpee man was arrested Sunday for allegedly filming women from various angles as they tanned in a salon on Cape Cod, police said.

Luis Macedo, 47, an employee at Sunsational Tanning in Hyannis, was arrested after a woman told Barnstable police that she had noticed a camera lens beneath her feet while she was tanning in a booth at the salon.

Police set up surveillance at the salon, which they said allowed them to identify Macedo as he positioned his cell phone in a changing room, where officers also found a peephole concealed by an advertisement.

When police approached Macedo, he admitted to secretly taking videos of women with his cell phone through the perforated floors of the booths and from the peephole in the changing room. Police said they recovered more than 20 videos from Macedo’s cell phone. He was charged with two counts of secretly video-recording or photgraphing nudity. Police said concerned clients of the salon can contact them at 508-775-0387.
