No foul play suspected in death of Newbury man on JetBlue plane
A 77-year-old Newbury man died on board a Boston-bound JetBlue flight Wednesday evening, officials said.
The man, who had outstanding medical conditions, went into distress and became unresponsive while on JetBlue Flight 462 from Fort Myers, Fla., to Boston, Suffolk District Attorney spokesman Jake Wark and JetBlue said.
Crew and passengers unsuccessfully attempted to provide medical assistance, and the man was pronounced dead upon arrival at Logan International Airport just after 7:45 p.m.
The man, traveling with a family member, had medical conditions requiring the use of an oxygen tank, among other things, Wark said. There were 149 passengers and five crew members on board.
After investigating the incident, Wark said, State Police assigned to the Suffolk DA’s office found nothing to suggest foul play.
