Westwood firefighters along with firefighters from Walpole and surrounding towns battled a three-alarm fire at this home at 355 Dover Road today.
Westwood firefighters have knocked down a three-alarm fire that tore through a nearly 200-year-old Westwood home early this morning, officials said.
The Westwood Fire Department got a call for the fire at 355 Dover Road just after 5 a.m., said Fire Captain Robert Valluzzi. Firefighters from neighboring towns including Walpole, Norwood, Dedham, Medfield, and Dover assisted Westwood’s response.
Just before 8 a.m., companies on scene are engaged in extensive overhaul, putting out hot spots, Valluzzi said.
The two-story, single-family home was built in 1830, and is worth just shy of $1 million, according to town assessor records.
No further information was immediately available.
