Man arrested on charges related to Roxbury shooting
Boston police arrested a Braintree man on charges related to a shooting a Roxbury Friday evening, officials said in a statement Saturday.
Paul Walrond, 22, was charged with assault with intent to murder, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, as well as other gun and driving violations, the statement said.
Police responded to a call for a person shot near 41 Holworthy St. shortly before 8 p.m. Friday. A victim, whose name was not released, was shot multiple times and transported to Boston Medical Center, the statement said. He is in stable condition.
According to the statement, officers spotted a black Cadillac near Parker and Heath streets matching the description of a vehicle that was seen fleeing the scene. When they tried to pull the car over, the driver, identified as Walrond, tried to escape through the window of his car, the statement said. Police took him into custody and allegedgly found a stolen gun in the vehicle.Alli Knothe can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
