Summery weather continues today; showers could fall Friday on Red Sox playoff game

WBZ AccuWeather Forecast

A few more hours of dry, warm weather are expected before a warm front brings a risk of showers tonight into Friday. The weekend will see a mix of sun and rain, with the greatest chance of precipitation Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will reach into the upper 70s today, but clouds are expected to develop this afternoon and evening, forecasters said. More clouds will develop overnight, with temperatures falling into the upper 50s. A few sprinkles are possible, though substantial rain is unlikely.

The surging Red Sox may have to contend with some showers when they tussle with the Tampa Bay Rays at Fenway Friday afternoon. Showers are expected, mainly after 2 p.m. They may be heavy at times but should dissipate by late afternoon. Skies will remain cloudy through the day, with temperatures reaching into the mid-70s, forecasters said.
