Veteran NBC newsman Tom Brokaw will be honored by filmmaker Ken Burns and Old Sturbridge Village with the annual “Ken Burns Lifetime Achievement Award.” Now a special correspondent with the network, Brokaw will be presented with the award Nov. 27. Brokaw can add this accolade to a mantel already crowded with Peabody, Dupont, and Emmy awards. Past winners include actor Sam Waterston, historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, and actress Laura Linney. The award is given to individuals who have made a significant impact on the arts through projects related to history. Burns’s latest documentary, “The Dust Bowl,” airs Sunday and Monday on PBS.
