Institute of Contemporary Art director Jill Medvedow and Teen Arts Council member R omario Accime were at the White House on Monday to accept the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program award from first lady Michelle Obama. The ICA earned the honor for its commitment to teen programming. Accime tweeted after the visit, “OH MY GOD the first lady is BEAUTIFUL . . . And she HUGGED ME!!!” . . . Meanwhile, Milton’s Peter Hirst, the executive director of executive education at MIT Sloan School of Management, was at Buckingham Palace earlier this month so that Queen Elizabeth could name him a member of the Order of the British Empire.
