Ken Burns, Tom Brokaw make history

New Hampshire resident and famous documentarian Ken Burns will be in Albany, N.Y., tonight to chat about his work and pick up the Empire State Archives and History Award from The Archives Partnership Trust. Local historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, whose book inspired Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln,” is a past recipient. . . . In related news, author and longtime NBC journalist Tom Brokaw will pick up the Ken Burns Lifetime Achievement Award at at Old Sturbridge Village on Tuesday. The honor is given by Burns and Old Sturbridge Village to someone “who has made a significant impact on the arts through projects related to history.” Kearns Goodwin has won that prize, too.
