If you spent Sunday night watching Lindsay Lohan in “Liz & Dick” on Lifetime, you probably missed the local guys from New Edition accepting the Soul Train Lifetime Achievement Award during the Soul Train Awards, which aired on BET. The reunited Boston-bred R&B group thanked family and friends for supporting them throughout the years. Bobby Brown specifically thanked his brother Tommy , “the first person who took New Edition on the road.” Bobby also said, “I want to thank my brothers for sticking by me at all times. I wanna thank all of you for always having my back no matter what I’ve been through in my life. I’m still standing on my feet.” The Soul Train Awards were taped in Las Vegas earlier this month. The late Whitney Houston was also honored during the night. She was Brown’s ex-wife.
