Justin Bieber watches with pleasure as Celtics lose

We’re sorry the Celtics didn’t beat the Clippers in LA this week, and not just because Chris Paul’s team has the best record in the NBA. No, we wanted the C’s to crush the Clippers because Justin Bieber was sitting courtside with Chris Paul Jr., son of the Clippers’s All-Star point guard. . . . The Malden Teen Enrichment Center received a special Christmas present: Actor Mark Wahlberg pledged $10,000 to the center through his charitable foundation. Last weekend, Scott Saia, a Malden native who works for Wahlberg, organized a street-hockey fund-raiser for the teen center that made $7,000. The next day, Saia learned that the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation would be chipping in another $10,000. “It floored me when I got that phone call,” said Saia. “Not that it surprised me, knowing the Wahlbergs, but it wasn’t something I expected. It was the best Christmas present I could get.” The teen center, which opened Dec. 12, offers leadership and educational programs for teens, as well as gym access. The center is set to receive about $125,000 in city funding in 2013.
