Former JAM’N personality Pebbles joins new 96.9 FM
Pebbles
Former JAM’N 94.5 morning personality Pebbles, who was dropped from the station last month, has been hired to host the morning show on 96.9 FM, which just switched from a talk-radio format to music. The veteran Boston DJ (inset) posted the news on her Facebook page Thursday afternoon. A statement put out by 96.9 owner Greater Media says that Pebbles officially joined the station on Wednesday and is preparing to launch her show. The statement also says: “Stay tuned. . . . more announcements are coming!” — so we assume there are more hires on the way. Pebbles was candid with fans last month when she revealed why she was no longer at JAM’N. She wrote on her Facebook page on Dec. 11, “Dear Friends, Since I have been getting lots of questions, I figured I would address everyone and simply let you all know that Thursday, December 6th was my last day on JAM’N 94.5, as Clear Channel decided to let me go. That said, I want to take a moment to thank some very special people. First, my radio partner for the past 10 years, Ramiro. It has been an honor to have had my name next to yours all these years, and a pleasure spending my mornings with you every day. . . . The rest of my morning show family: Melissa, Krazy Kulo (yes, even you) and DJ Pup Dawg. We were the most dysfunctional group of people ever, but my life would have been pretty boring without you. Thank you for your years of friendship and love.”
