Sox closer Hanrahan visit Dana-Farber

Friendly Fenway wasn’t the only stop on Joel Hanrahan’s first foray to Boston as a member of the Red Sox. The team’s new closer also dropped by the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Jimmy Fund Clinic to visit with pediatric patients and families. . . . Actor-producer Edward Burns, who was in town to talk about his film about Bruins great Derek Sanderson, had dinner with friends at Davio’s in Park Square. Alas, Burns’s wife, model Christy Turlington, was not with him. . . . Celtics Avery Bradley and Jared Sullinger and a few lady friends celebrated the team’s victory over the Suns at the Greatest Bar. Also in the house was “God Only Knows” writer Emilio Mauro and former “Voice” contestant James Massone. . . . Meanwhile, Celts guard Leandro Barbosa had a late dinner at Empire in the Seaport and coach Doc Rivers had a late dinner at Sonsie, where former Sox catcher Jason Varitek was also dining. . . . Bruins buddies Shawn Thornton, Tuukka Rask, and Andrew Ference were hanging at GEM, Ed and Joe Kane’s supper lounge in Downtown Crossing. . . . Actor Zachary Quinto, in town to appear in the American Repertory Theater’s production of Tennessee Williams’s “The Glass Menagerie,” was at Plough and Stars the other night. (The play runs runs Feb. 2-March 17 at the Loeb Drama Center.)
