Anna Burns Welker criticized by Linda Hogan, Pats defended by Matt Damon

When it comes to Anna Burns Welker’s online rant about Ray Lewis — for which she apologized — not everyone is willing to let bygones be bygones. Linda Hogan, the ex-wife of professional wrestler Hulk Hogan, told TMZ that it was “way uncool” for the wife of the Pats receiver to diss Lewis. (After the Ravens pounded the Pats, Anna posted a note on her Facebook page detailing Lewis’s troubled past: “6 kids 4 wives. Acquitted for murder. Paid a family off. Yay. What a hall of fame player! A true role model!”) Welker’s wife later said she was sorry, but Hogan thinks she should have kept her mouth shut. “In a public situation, [athletes’ wives] don’t really have a place to make an opinion,” Hogan told TMZ. . . . The website also caught up with Matt Damon, and asked the actor about the Pats’ pitiful performance against the Ravens. “Lotta injuries,” Damon said as he walked through the airport in LA. “They couldn’t beat us full strength.” Problem is, aside from missing Rob Gronkowski and, for part of the game, Aqib Talib and Stevan Ridley, the Patriots were pretty healthy. Damon, by the way, will be back in town April 25 to receive the Harvard Arts Medal. Last year, the honor went to Harvard grad Tommy Lee Jones.
