Wait, isn’t that…? That’s what we muttered Monday when Ben Taylor’s high cheekbones suddenly flashed on our TV screen during this week’s episode of “The Bachelor.” The Martha’s Vineyard-based singer-songwriter son of James Taylor and Carly Simon appeared briefly during a one-on-one date between bachelor Sean Lowe and one of his prospective sweethearts. Taylor treated the lovebirds to a special private concert, playing a cover of Sade’s “By Your Side.” Taylor has a new CD, “Listening,” which he’s been hyping with appearances on VH1, Fox, NPR, and, now, “The Bachelor.”
