Boston’s Ben Affleck won best director at the the British Academy Film Awards on Sunday. His film, “Argo,”
also won best picture. Affleck attended the awards ceremony with his wife, Jennifer Garner, and his “Argo” producer, George Clooney. Meanwhile, local boys Matt Damon and John Krasinski took their fracking film, “Promised Land,” to the Berlin Film Festival over the weekend. They were joined by “Promised Land” and “Good Will Hunting” director Gus Van Sant.
