A Valentine’s gala for ART

The American Repertory Theater held its third annual Valentine’s Gala at the Revere Hotel Monday night. The evening — hosted by local arts supporter Dina Selkoe and “Star Trek” actor Zachary Quinto (who’s starring in the ART’s run of “The Glass Menagerie”) — featured a performance by Lara Jacobs Rigolo, of Cirque du Soleil’s “Amaluna,” which was directed by ART artistic director Diane Paulus. (“Amaluna” comes to Boston this spring.) Honorees during the night included Shakespearean actor John Douglas Thompson, who accepted the Robert Brustein Award, and Boston Arts Academy headmaster Linda Nathan, who was given the ART Angel Award. There was also a tribute to ART board chairman Donald Ware. We’re especially excited about the honorary committee for the party. Names on that list included Pharrell Williams and Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes.
