“Girls” fans take note: actor Christopher Abbott (left), who plays Charlie on the show, will be in town Sunday to accept the Chlotrudis Society for Independent Film’s Breakout Award. Abbott will be honored for his indie film projects, which include “Hello I Must Be Going,” and “Martha Marcy May Marlene.” Tickets for the event, which will be held at the Brattle, are on sale to the public. Past Breakout Award winners include Ellen Page of “Juno” and Kerry Washington.
