Chef Eddie Huang, owner of BaoHaus in New York’s East Village, was at Empire the other night, whipping up a taste sensation with Big Night Entertainment Group chef Kevin Long. The event, the kickoff of a celebrity chef series planned at Empire, attracted a few familiar faces, including Red Sox owner John Henry and wife Linda, Sox CEO Larry Lucchino and wife Stacey, J. Geils frontman Peter Wolf, author Ben Mezrich, Empire owners Ed and Joe Kane, and Randy Greenstein. (Former Pats safety Lawyer Milloy showed up later for dinner and drinks.) . . . Governor Deval Patrick was among the supporters of the Fine Arts Work Center who gathered this week to welcome Michael Roberts, the new executive director of the Provincetown organization. (Roberts previously worked at the Asia Society in New York.) Others at the event included David Cowan and James Bennette, co-owners of Boston’s ACME Fine Art gallery, singer Patty Larkin, artist and FAWC trustee Alison Ferring, writer/thinker Christopher Lydon, gallery owner Robert Klein, and Betty Vorenberg, Chris Busa, and Ingrid Aue of Provincetown Arts. . . . Bruins forward Tyler Seguin had some quality family time this week, dining with his dad at Strega Waterfront. . . . Celts captain Paul Pierce played a friendly game of H-O-R-S-E with six fans Friday as part of a promotion with the Massachusetts State Lottery’s Celtics Instant Ticket. Pierce won with a 3-pointer, but finished with H-O. . . . Supermodel Tyra Banks turned a few heads as she boarded an LA-bound plane at Logan.
