ABC Family put up a trailer for the television pilot that was filmed around Boston last fall. The network is asking fans of its popular series “Pretty Little Liars” to vote on a title for the local show, which is based on the Mexican drama “Terminales.” Above, actress Italia Ricci is seen in a segment of the pilot that was filmed in the Boston Globe’s newsroom.

The Boston-based television drama known as “Terminales,” which had its pilot shot around Boston last fall, is still in contention at ABC Family. The network, home of teen-friendly shows such as “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” and “Pretty Little Liars,” posted a note for “Liars” fans, asking them to help name the local series, which never had a real title. “Terminales,” the temp title, comes from the Mexican drama on which the show is based. The American version of the program follows a young newspaper reporter, played by Italia Ricci (lower left), who finds out she has terminal cancer. ABC Family posted a trailer of the pilot featuring scenes shot at Fenway Park, Beacon Hill, and here at The Boston Globe, and said: “Pretty Little Liars fans! We need your help. We’re working on a new show that may air on ABC Family in the future. Watch the commercial below & then vote for the show title that you think is the best fit! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!” Titles under consideration include “Type A,” “Chasing Life,” and “Fearless.” Producers of the show told us last year that if the series is picked up, it will continue to film locally.
