ICA prepares for a May bash
ICA director Jill Medvedow doesn’t need an excuse to throw a party. The museum on the South Boston waterfront always seems to be having a bash of one sort or another. But the ICA’s annual gala, to be held May 10, promises to be its biggest shindig of the year. The lineup for what is billed as an “immersive evening of extraordinary art” includes performance artist Nick Cave, pop violinists Rhett Price and Josh Knowles, runway models styled by Louis Boston and Mario Russo, and a dance party DJ’d by Solange Knowles, the singer-actress-model-dancer kid sister of Beyoncé. Co-chaired by Dennis Baldwin, Jodi and Hal Hess, and Tricia and Nick Winton, the party will include a dinner for 350 people — intimate by the standards of the ICA’s 75th anniversary party that was held in an airplane hangar at Logan Airport a few years ago — and a temporary glass tent overlooking the water.
