City Year celebrates 25 of them
Victoria Reggie Kennedy was the featured speaker at City Year’s 25th anniversary celebration at the JFK Library over the weekend. Bain Capital, the event’s main sponsor, was well represented, with Steve Pagliuca, Josh Bekenstein, and Jonathan Lavine all in the audience, along with Mayor Thomas M. Menino, interim school
superintendent John McDonough, MBTA chief Beverly Scott, and City Year cofounders Alan Khazei, Michael Brown, Corinne and Tim Ferguson, and Harvard Business School professor Rosabeth Moss Kanter. . . . Boston Common magazine has replaced former editor Janice O’Leary, who’d been MIA from the masthead for a while.
Lisa Pierpont, who started Boldfacers.com and worked as a producer on “Chronicle,” is the mag’s new editor in chief. . . . Singer John Rich of Big & Rich was at Legal Harborside’s rooftop bar Sunday. Rich was in town to perform at Mission Gratitude, a fund-raiser for wounded soldiers, held Monday night at Symphony Hall. . . . Where did Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis go after announcing his resignation Monday? No, not Disney World. Davis grabbed a bite at Stephi’s on Tremont in the South End.
