Valerie Plame at Boston Book Festival
Valerie Plame , whose career with the CIA ended abruptly when her identity as an operative with the agency was leaked to the media by her political enemies, was at the Boston Book Festival opening party. (Plame, who wrote about her outing in her memoir, “Fair Game: My Life as a Spy, My Betrayal by the White House,” is back with a new book, “Blowback,” a spy novel written with Sarah Lovett .) Plame took part in a BBF panel titled “Writing Terror” with director Wes Craven and moderated by Joe Klein . . . . The MSPCA held its annual Animal Hall of Fame awards ceremony the other night, and amid all the four-legged guests at the event was two-legged actress Liv Ullmann , the Norwegian actress who earned an Oscar nomination for her role in the 1972 film, “The Emigrants.” . . . The Roots drummer/DJ Questlove was at the Back Bay club Estate Friday afternoon, hosting a hourlong dance party sponsored by the folks at Absolut and Flavorpill.
