Shortly after the Red Sox won the World Series, the Movember Foundation — which promotes the awareness of prostate and testicular cancer — announced that it would be auctioning off David Ortiz and Shane Victorino’s facial hair for the cause. The players’ beards, which were shaved off at Gillette headquarters on Nov. 4, were almost immediately put up on eBay for a month of bidding, and on Saturday night, there were two winners. According to eBay, there were 127 bids on Victorino’s facial hair, the highest being $3,750.69. As for MVP Ortiz (inset), his beard fetched 132 bids that maxed out at $10,877.77. The winners get not only the hair, but also the razor used to cut it off. . . . One of the last Boston Movember parties was held at Local 149 in South Boston on Saturday night. The Movember Must Ache Bash, which collected $5 a person for the cause, brought out ’stached locals such as (at right, from left) Brian Kavanagh, Bill Mulholland, and Jamey Haughton.
