Local author Alysia Abbott’s memoir to be adapted by Sofia Coppola
Cambridge author Alysia Abbott’s “Fairyland: A Memoir of My Father,” released by W.W. Norton in June, will be adapted by Sofia Coppola, according to Deadline.com. The book is about Abbott’s childhood in San Francisco with her bisexual writer/activist father, Steve Abbott . Alysia tweeted after the news broke, “I’m so excited about Sofia Coppola helming the film version of Fairyland that I want to get my hair cut & colored like hers. Too weird?” We’d say not weird at all; there’s a pretty strong resemblance even without the haircut.
