Sales of Prey prints benefit Habitat
Finished your holiday shopping? If not, consider a limited edition print of New England landscape painter Barbara Ernst Prey ’s “The Collection,” sold through her website (www.barbaraprey.com). A portion of each $2,000 sale benefits Habitat for Humanity. “The Collection,” part of Prey’s series of 9/11-themed images, depicts eight American flags on the porch of a Maine house, not far from her own seacoast studio. (Prey, inset, also maintains studios in New York and Williamstown.) The image was chosen last summer to grace the cover of all official invitations sent out by US ambassadors and embassies to their July Fourth festivities. Two other Prey paintings were just added to the George W. Bush Presidential Library, and Prey’s work has been collected by, among others, the White House, Kennedy Space Center, singer-songwriter Jimmy Webb, Nobel laureate James Watson, and actors Tom Hanks and Orlando Bloom.Joseph P.
